Bronze Jacob The Goose Sculpture

The 19th century story of Jacob the Goose, is legendary in the annals of Coldstream folklore - saved from a fox by a sentry when the Second Battalion were stationed in Canada suppressing a French revolt in 1838, few military mascots can have alerted their masters to subsequent imminent attack and saved so many lives as a consequent. The sculptor, George Bingham has now recreated Jacob complete with his officer's Hanoverian gorget and Good Conduct Ring. Jacob, cast in bronze, measures 8 inches high with polished granite base .
